suspension 1

Motorcycles are built for an average rider and average use. No matter whether you use your bike for racing, the odd track day, communting or just the occasional 'bimble', you will soon find the limitations of your suspension.

Most motorcycles come out of the factory with just a baseline suspension setting. There is no specific set as the manufacturer can not cater for all the variables ie, weight of rider, whether it's used for sports, touring or track days etc.

At ERS Racing we can tailor the bike to you needs.

As a result you will have better stability and more control of your bike and subsequently a safer ride.

Power is nothing without control.......

Our objective is to create maximum contact of tyre to tarmac. This means that not only will you get better wear out of you tyres but the bike will be more predicatable and will inspire confidence in you as a rider and your motorcycle.

Eddie has been developing suspension for many years and has worked with riders such as John MacDonald, Bruce Burnie, Torquil Patterson and Keith Amore to name a few. All of these riders have benifited from his knowledge and understanding of suspension and motorcycle dynamics.

The importance of suspension is as paramount on a road bike as it is to a race bike.

What do we actually do?

The customer is required to turn up in his/her riding gear. Eddie will use his own formula to set the 'sag'- how much weight is going through the springs- the total weight needs to be as close as it would be when out on the bike.

He then checks the geometry and alters it if required. Eddie sets the compression and rebound and the tyre pressures and sends the customer out on the bike. If further adjustments are needed from there he will work till the customer is completely satisfied.

The whole process takes a relatively short period of time but the pleasure of riding a properly set up bike is endless.
